JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE:                                      Test Technician - Dyno
DEPARTMENT:                                Operations
POSITION REPORTS TO:                General Manager – Auburn Hills
CLASSIFICATION:                          Non-Exempt

Summary:  

To facilitate the setup and testing of engines on a dynamometer for run-in, power verification and various development tests as required.

 

Essential Duties

 
  • The position will setup engines in the dyno facility as required.
  • The position will perform various tests as required.
  • The position will remove engines from the dyno facility as required.
  • The position will assist in other tasks in the engine build area.
  • The position will support training in methodology and operational skill sets.
  • The position will maintain both internal and external customer and supplier contact.
  • The position will assist with project quotes and various reports.
  • The position will strive to stay current in training of the latest technology in engine testing techniques, instrumentation and data acquisition.
  • This position will with respect to Health and Safety:
    • Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with MIOSHA Occupational Safety and Health Act regulations.
    • Ensure the Arrow safety rules are applied and adhered to
    • Be responsible for their work area with regard to housekeeping, 5S implementation and maintenance.
    • Ensure a clean and safe work environment and area.
  • This position will with respect to Quality and Environmental
    • Support the planning, implementation and maintenance of the Documented Quality and Environmental Systems
  • This position will foster an environment that is indicative of Arrow’s Mission and Core Values
  • This position will assist in Supplier Management for Arrow
  • The position may require additional duties as assigned.
  

Technical Skills:

 Proficient in, but not limited to, engine dynamometer testing, various forms of electronic and analog instrumentation, data acquisition systems and general computer skills.
 

Communication Skills

 Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures.  Ability to produce detailed test reports and documentation.
 

Analytical Skills

 Ability to work with general shop mathematics.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
 

Problem Solving Skills

 Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
 

Education / Skill / Experience Qualifications

                                  
Associates or vocational degree or equivalent and five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of the three.

JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE:                                      Automotive Machinist
DEPARTMENT:                                Operations
POSITION REPORTS TO:                General Manager – Auburn Hills

Summary:  

To work in the engine machine shop area machining and/or assisting in the building of high performance engines to meet customer requirements. 

 

Essential Duties

 
  • The position will set up and run parts in a Bridgeport Style knee mill as required.
  • The position will set up and run parts in a lathe as required.
  • The position will set up and run Sunnen style honing machines for both connecting rods and cylinder blocks as required.
  • The position will set up and use dial bore gauges to make precession bore measurements.
  • The position will strive to stay current in training of the latest technology in engine machining, modern manufacturing and testing techniques.
  • This position will with respect to Health and Safety:
    • Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with MIOSHA Occupational Safety and Health Act regulations.
    • Ensure the Arrow Racing Engines safety rules are applied and adhered to
    • Be responsible for their work area with regard to housekeeping, 5S implementation and maintenance.
